New books from me and 'her'

Do you ever wish you could be someone else? I’ve just become someone else, and for an unusual reason.

A year or so back, a publisher in China asked if I could remove the sexy love scenes from my books. What??? No!

In fact it’s not me who puts the sex in – it’s the characters themselves. It’s perfectly possible to write for ages in the zone and get a real surprise when you read the manuscript back. This is where the bedroom photography scene in Hard to Regret came from. I didn’t set out to write it… Anna and Jason simply started to live it. I was thrilled when I discovered what they were doing.

Anyway, back to China. I assumed the books would fall rather flat if I made them less sexy, but earlier this year I tried with The Boat Builder’s Bed. Well, it turned out OK. In fact I could see that people who preferred a sweeter read might enjoy it very much, and if this is what Chinese readers wanted, why shouldn’t they have the chance to enjoy my books? So this led me on to some hard but enjoyable work on the other top sellers in my Wellington Series.

The five new editions have gone to China, and they’ve been rapidly snapped up by project managers who have recruited translators. I’m getting lovely messages back from them. I’m really excited!

Why am I telling you this? Because I’ve also released them in English.

I know I’m far from the first author to do this, but I haven’t just slapped a label on the old covers saying ‘unsexy version’. I’m using the author name of Kerri Peach (another KP, and it sounds sweeter.) Each of the books has a new cover and title, and the descriptions include ‘The sweeter edition of Kris Pearson’s Out of Bounds’, or whatever the original title was. I don’t want to mislead anyone. These are the same stories – fun and flirty – but with no detailed sex, and cleaner language (not that there was much swearing, but men do let loose with the odd word if they’re annoyed…)

They’re good! If you prefer sweeter reads then please try them, and please recommend them to friends or family members who might, too.

You can see them all together on my new website http://www.kerripeach.com

They’re now on sale at Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, Nook, Google Play and Smashwords, and you’ll find all the links to buy and try on Kerri’s website. I hope you enjoy them.
